Vehicle Description
Once we mention a Triple Deuce setup, you know exactly the kind of
classic you're looking at. So with the vintage style on this 1962
Ford Galaxie 500 Victoria, and the beastly 3x2 V8 under the hood it
makes for the kind of coupe that was meant to be a Saturday Night
Sleeper.
This car gives a very cool first impression. We were getting closer
to the muscle car era in 1962, and cars like this Galaxie were
getting bigger motors. So kids were borrowing the family car at
night, and if dad chose a hot one on the Ford lot, a new legend
could be made over the weekend. This coupe plays that part well
with a daily driver finish on a paint that stays close to the
factory-correct chestnut. This Victoria was an upper-market trim
level, and that means plenty of ornamentation. The bright chrome
bumpers, intricate grille, rocker trim, and badging all look clean
and complete... after all, if dad discovered the car was missing
anything on Monday morning, we'd be in big trouble. We especially
love the line that runs the length of both sides as it highlights
the straight body panels. It also has a gold inlay that coordinates
with the upgraded American Racing wheels.
The interior continues the classic-style presentation. The two-tone
chestnut and tan upholstery has a terrific artful style. And we
love the detail work, like how the white piping on the seats breaks
up the two colors in a similar way to the white streak does on the
side panels. The two rows of bench seating were great for fitting
extra friends back in the day, and that still holds true now.
There's even an upgraded AM/FM digital tuner w/cassette to keep
them all happy. But you also know this one was built with the
driver in mind. After all, the most obvious upgrades are the
white-faced auxiliary readouts and large AutoMeter Autogage
tach.
The callouts on the fender say 390, and that big V8 is exactly what
you see when you open the hood. It has the long air grabber on top
that looks like a Shelby Cobra piece, and beneath it are the three
dual-barrel carburetors for the awesome triple deuce arrangement.
The motor is both a powerful setup and a strong runner. And the
sound of the dual exhaust w/Flowmasters helps announce some of that
muscle. Since this is still meant to be a true cruiser, you also
have good anytime driven features, like the three-speed automatic
transmission, power steering, and wide modern tires.
It's hard not to resist a cool blacktop sleeper like this. So don't
fight the urge, call today!
