Vehicle Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Restomod is built to do everything. It
has been upgraded to have the iconic style of an RS/SS coupe, and
the interior is an updated comfy A/C setup. Plus, the fuel-injected
LS3 motor, upgraded suspension, and six-speed transmission means
this is a serious performance machine that can also settle into
everyday driving.
There's barely over 250 miles on this coupe since a lot of the work
was completed at Forge Speed. But while we'll get to all the
upgrades in a moment, it's nice to appreciate how these first-gen
Camaros had some of the most aggressive styling straight from the
factory. Items like the cowl hood, full-width spoiler, and
Z/28-stye 15-inch Rally wheels all give this a real presence. Since
this one has the best of the first-gen cars, they also included the
Super Sport badging and iconic Rally Sport hidden headlight front
end. And when you want the performance look to be as clear as black
and white, you finish the car in black with white racing stripes
painted on top. There are some little hints at how modern this one
really is, like the LED halo headlights and LED taillights, but the
first impression is more about showing off the classic performance
style we all love.
The dark and stylish package continues inside. It starts with a
great pair of TMI leather bucket seats. They have a hint of stock
with the button-top seatback, but the bolstering hugs your body
like no 1960s machine ever did. The carpeting, door panels,
headliner, and dash all have the look of quality, too. As a true
restomod, you have comfort upgrades, including a retro-style AM/FM
digital tuner, upgraded stereo speakers, and cold-blowing R134a air
conditioning. But as much as those features are great for everyone,
the best treats are reserved just for you. The wood-rimmed steering
wheel is grippy, and beyond that are the dual pods for the updated
speedo and tach. You've got a center console with the full quad
gauge package, and that Hurst shifter shows 50% more gears than
you'd ever expected in a '69 Camaro.
The engine bay has a terrific blackout look just like the rest of
this coupe, and this dark heart is a powerful one, too. This is a
modern 6.2-liter LS3 fuel-injected V8. It's built for all-around
street performance with an upgraded air intake, 102mm throttle
body, an aluminum radiator w/electric fan, and headers feeding the
dual exhaust. Best of all you have superior control over this big
power V8 and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the six-speed
manual transmission. And more than just power, this restomod has
all the right upgrades to be a great driver. It includes a Detroit
Speed tubular A-arm front end, power steering, power brakes, and
front discs.
This is the full build that has stunning looks, a comfy interior,
and big power, and an overall solid feeling on the road. So if
you're looking for a Camaro that loves to be enjoyed, you can't
