For Sale: 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air in Mt. Prospect, Illinois

Vehicle Description

REDUCED for Fall Sale! $65,000

Rare opportunity to own a fantastic, custom classic Hot-Rod.  (Appraised at $130K, prior to an additional $25K Invested Two Years Ago)

August 2021-New Napa Legend Premium Battery

This car was built as a labor of love. It was found in the back of a barn in a small Missouri town in 2010. The frame-off restoration was completed in  April of 2015 and this is a clean car. All clean metal on floors, rear quarters, and trunk-no welds, cuts, splices, or seams. This is a true Show and Go vehicle that has won many Midwestern car show awards including many Best in Show, Best Paint, People's Choice, and is very popular amongst local classic car clubs. (I belong to a local Classic Chevy car club.) You can't tell people this is a Black Car with White Flames you won't believe its effect until you see it!! People are blown away by how the colors and chrome flows. The Paint is a DuPont Chroma Base and Urethane Clear. It is extremely tasteful and not over the top-done just right! This is the dream car of a lifetime and will become someone's pride and joy. The reality is that I have gotten back into camping with my family and purchased an RV last year, and just don't have the time to do both. I have always had the philosophy that cars were meant to be driven.

The car has an independent front suspension 1975 Nova sub-frame, drop spindles, QA1 Adjustable Coil-Over Shocks, power rack & pinion steering. Front Disc Brakes and Rear Drums with Power Booster.

The rear end is set up for highway travel. 10 Bolt 1976 Caprice 2:84 Gears. Leaf Springs with Air Shocks. A Ride-Pro E Air Ride
system is installed complete for future 4 link. Shockwave 7000 Air Bags included with the sale.

The Power Plant is a 468 Chevy Big Block with Edelbrock Endurashine Intake and 2-4 Barrel Carb's. Custom Alum. Valve Covers and Headers. The Radiator is custom by Auto-Rad. Polished Alum. with Core Support and Coolers for Engine, TH-400 Tranny, and A/C.

A/C is a Gen 4 Vintage Air with a Custom Bezel for Controllers on Dash and has been charged with fresh 134A two years ago.

All Wiring is from Affordable Street Rod. Deluxe Kit and Fuse Panel. Champion Dual Radiator Fans with Dual Control Relays. Head Lights are also on Relay's.

Wheel' are Custom by "Early Wheels" 15 inch. The tires are BFG Radials by Diamond Black Classic. 235/60/15's with 2.5 inch White Wall's.

On the Dash, I have Custom Billet Gauge Insert and Auto Meter Gages. The Stereo is Secretaudio AM/FM 10 Disc Changer and RF Remote.

Interior is Custom (looks like leather) Vinyl, which is very comfortable and practical. I couldn't see putting expensive leather in a convertible. The Front Bucket's and Fabricated Back Seats are very comfortable. The Fabric Top is hand-made. I lowered the bow over the driver's seat. The Trunk is also finished.

All Exterior Stainless is Original and Polished.

The exhaust is custom mandrel bended headers, routed to controllable side Lake Pipes (you control the routing & sound from an under-dash toggle switch that controls the baffles), out to two Magnaflow stainless mufflers and chrome pipes out the back. This completes the awesome hot-rod look and sound. The side-pipes are tucked up nice and tight along the frame, so as not to be a hinderance getting out of the vehicle and worrying about leg burns, or ground clearance.

There is a Ton of Chrome and misc. new stuff not listed.

The vehicle was appraised 3 years ago at $130,000, prior to an additional $20,000 of custom work being done to her.

Also includes a $500 custom car cover that is waterproof yet breathable and does an excellent job of keeping the car protected and clean.

A large binder of all receipts, as well as a photo album, documenting the vehicle in it's original state, through the restoration process-is also included.

Clean vehicle title.
