Wow is this a cutie. Great colors, the red interior against the
black paint is stunning. It was thoroughly restored. Just recently
$12,098 was just spent on mechanical work including upgrading it to
a 5-speed for better cruising speeds. It also has been upgraded
with turn signals.
EXTERIOR: The body is mint with no rust or damage. There are
multiple layers of black paint polished smooth and glossy. The
original chrome was replated. The hood handles have MG logos. The
logos on the headlamps match the fender lights. The convertible top
and side curtains were restored. It has a German cloth boot when
the top is down. The wheels have been repainted in metallic silver,
the hubcaps look excellent. All 5 tires were replaced, the spare
has never been used. The windshield has wing windows and it folds
down. There are optional fog lamps in front and luggage rack in
back mounted over the spare tire.
INTERIOR: Completely restored. Genuine leather upholstery on the
seats and doors. It has been recarpeted and there are embroidered
MG floor mats. The dash area is in real nice shape. The original
gauges work, steering wheel is in excellent condition with no
cracks.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The motor was just completely rebuilt, not more
than a couple hundred miles ago. It has an improved cam, heavier
springs, larger valves and a ported head. It runs on pump gas. The
SU carbs were rebuilt with bigger jets. The generator and voltage
regulator were rebuilt, it was converted to negative ground. It has
a new factory wire harness. They used factory correct hoses, clamps
and plug wires. It is dressed up beautifully with finned valve
cover and side cover. It has chrome air cleaners on the dual carbs.
The original jack is in the firewall box. The original ID tags are
on the firewall.
UNDERSIDE: Under this car is exceptionally nice. It looks like just
about every nut and bolt have been apart and the components were
restored. There is an aluminium finned oil pan. The 4-speed was
professionally upgraded with a Ford 5-speed so you can cruise
easier at highway speeds. This was done with a kit and instructions
made for this car, it was a professional job. Stainless steel
exhaust system with a polished muffler. The floors are completely
solid and painted black.
Driving a vintage English sports car is a lot of fun. The sound and
feel are exhilarating. This is a perfect car to enjoy that
experience.
