So even before we opened the door, slid behind the suede-clad
steering wheel, and snuggled into the optional hip-hugging Recaro
seat of the 2011 CTS-V Coupe, expectations were high. We knew this
was the fastest, sportiest, most powerful two-door Cadillac in
history, packing the same iron-fisted 556-hp punch as the sedan. We
knew that like the sedan it can be ordered with the same
slick-shifting Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual or smooth Hydra-Matic
6L90 six-speed automatic, and has the same big Brembo brakes,
Magnetic Ride Control variable-rate shocks, and sticky Michelin
Pilot Sport 2 tires to keep it buttoned down in the twisties."
As if that weren't good enough, the previous owner beefed up the
6.2L power plant with a BTR LSA / PDS cam kit, stainless headers,
DeatschWerks fuel injectors, and a big 10 inch lower pulley. Out of
the factory this machine produced an impressive 556 hp @ 6100 rpm.
Twisting the key unleashes a low thunderous hum that begs us to rev
it up.
The exterior of this beast speaks for itself: Loud and in your
face. It's like you've entered the Emerald kingdom and you're
Wizard of Oz. Custom mini LED lights illuminate the grill, side
vents, and tail pipes. The mirrored Emerald Green wrap looks like
you hit it big in Vegas. Inside the cabin is left as General Motors
intended with a few added touches like suede wrapped steering wheel
and shifter knob. RECARO racing bucket seats hold you tight for
when the driving gets serious.
