Express (VIN code P and Canopy Express body code 3107) was
originally made in General Motors? Norwood, Ohio factory (VIN code
9) in April 1950 (VIN code D). It was fully restored and modified
professionally before the previous owner bought the truck in 2012.
In 2008 started a no expense spared, resto-mod restoration which is
fully documented by a detailed restoration book and receipts
totaling over $25,700+! The restored styling cues include a rear
lower tailgate, a chrome front bumper, dual sideview mirrors, a
roof visor, rear taillights from a 1950 Pontiac and dual exhaust
outlets. In back, the cargo bed is lined with tan carpeting and
features a partition with a window. This Express rolls on
Mastercraft Courser HTR radials, size 235/65R17 in front and
265/70R17 in back. Each tire is mounted on a chrome Torque Thrust
wheel. The wheels and tires are all in very good shape. Under the
hood is a 350 CID V-8 that has been modified to a stroker 383 CID
with a Holley air cleaner, a Tuff Stuff alternator, an Edelbrock
carburetor and valve covers. The motor breathes via custom dual
exhaust. Backing this motor is a Turbo Hydramatic 400 three-speed
automatic transmission and a rear axle from a 87 Buick Regal. The
front end is Heidt?s Ford Mustang II and Borgeson u-joints on the
drive shaft. Driver convenience features include vintage
air-conditioning with r134a refrigerant and a Flaming River Tilt
Column. Inside, the cabin offers tan, power-adjustable bucket seats
upholstered in leather with matching door panels and carpeting.
There?s a Flaming River steering column with a four-spoke,
leather-wrapped LeCarra steering wheel and a Lokar floor shifter.
The body-colored steel dashboard houses a full array of Dolphin
gauges, a chrome-and-silver slotted panel with aftermarket speakers
and a pull-out ashtray above climate controls and a JVC AM/FM
