Vehicle Description
1967 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster For Sale - Documented 435hp,
Triple Crown Winner LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1967
Chevrolet Corvette L71 Roadster The 1967 Corvette Sting Ray was the
last Corvette of the second generation, and five years of
refinements made it the best of the line. The 427/435HP L71 Sting
Ray would be the high-water mark of Corvette performance and
refinement for the C2 series of cars. Changes were modest with five
smaller front fender vents replacing the three larger ones and the
flat-finish rockers conferred a lower profile. New was a single
backup light mounted above the license plate and the previous
models' wheel covers were exchanged for the new design. Interior
alterations included revised upholstery and the handbrake moved
from beneath the dash to between the seats. The 427/435hp came
standard from the factory with the Holley triple two-barrel
carburetor arrangement called Tri-Power. The rare L71 engine
package cost the original buyer an extra $437.10 on the GM order
form. This spectacular Corvette roadster offered for sale here was
originally sold new at Oak Hill Motor Co. in East Chester, New York
was factory ordered in the ultra-rare color combination of Rally
Red with contrasting white convertible top, white interior and
iconic white "stinger" hood. Powered by the L71 427/435 HP
tri-power V-8 engine, this Corvette's massive performance potential
is unleashed with a M21 4-speed manual transmission and
Posi-traction limited-slip rear axle. Other options include tinted
glass, transistor ignition, side exhaust, bolt-on wheels, F41
suspension and am/fm radio. This L71 Roadster has only 28,273 miles
on the odometer with documented ownership history from April 4th,
1967 when it was delivered new. It still retains its numbers
matching L71 engine, M21 transmission and 3.55 posi-traction rear
end. The car prior to restoration was taken to be judged by the
best Corvette experts in the country. In 1987, it was taken to a
Bloomington Gold event where it was awarded Gold status and then
added to the Bloomington Gold special collection. It also was the
recipient of three different NCRS Top-Flight awards with an
combined average of over 97 nd a Duntov Mark Of Excellence award.
This all before it had ever been restored! Then this Corvette was
treated to an award-winning frame off restoration, and upon close
inspection, it quickly becomes apparent that the work was done in
an extremely professional manner with outstanding attention to
detail everywhere, utilizing the correct materials and colors
throughout. The body was taken down to bare fiberglass and fully
restored. The chassis and all suspension components have been
restored to their as new condition. Under Close inspection you will
find the original chassis and factory markings are in their place,
in addition to factory inspection stickers. After the restoration
was complete, it was taken through the show circuit once again
winning Bloomington Gold, NCRS Top Flight, Chevy Vette Fest Gold
Spinner Award and ultimately completing the Triple Crown award.
This particular Corvette has been very well known throughout the
Corvette community as "Bertha" for many decades. Important with any
Corvette of this magnitude, this L71 roadster comes documented with
tank sticker, warranty booklet, judging sheets, awards and complete
ownership history. The astute collector will recognize that this is
a very rare opportunity to acquire a low mileage award winning,
documented L71 Corvette to add to their muscle car collection.
