Vehicle Description
Known as "Forward Control," this unique 1966 Dodge A100 custom V8
pickup is an absolute blast and attracts attention wherever it
goes. It has been completely restored from top to bottom and is in
beautiful condition throughout. It was featured in the March 2014
issue of Classic Trucks magazine, which is included. It was shown
at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals, as indicated in Classic Trucks
magazine. As the original VIN tag indicates, this vehicle was left
the Warren Truck Plant in Warren, MI, as a 1966 Dodge A100 pickup
with a V8 engine. It's one of only 9,536 Dodge A100 trucks equipped
with a V8 in 1966, which makes it a rare find. From the information
gathered, this truck spent most of its life in California. The
exterior of this truck is beautiful in every sense of the word. It
attracts a ton of attention with its unique design and styling. The
truck retains all of its original sheet metal, which is a huge
plus. The body is very straight with nice door gaps. The truck
sports the gorgeous color combination of Tropical Turquoise and
white with a thin black pinstripe. The word "Dodge" on the white
portion of the tailgate was painted turquoise so it stands out. The
paintwork is beautiful and has been ceramic-coated. During the
restoration all of the glass was replaced, including the front
windshield, vent windows, door glass, rear quarter glass and rear
window. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced. It's
equipped with dual over-door chrome mirrors and custom bumpers. The
truck has a great stance with a perfect rake. It sits on 15-inch
Cragar S/S chrome staggered wheels that are 15x4.5 on the front and
15x8 on the rear. The wheels are wrapped with Matrix Multi-Mile
205-75-15 tires on the front and BFGoodrich radial T/A 275-60-15
tires on the rear. The rear bed was painted with LINE-X Protective
Coatings for durability. The interior of this truck is so cool and
different. There is literally no front end; the seats are over the
wheels and the engine is in-between the seats. The interior was
painted in the body color with black accents. It was upholstered
with black material throughout, including the sun visors, door
panels, rear panels, bucket seats and engine cover. Everything in
the interior was restored or replaced. Some custom features include
a vintage-style tachometer mounted on the dash, AutoMeter clock in
the dash, electric exhaust cutout switch, fire extinguisher and
custom sound system that consists of a Simple Ploy Wire for phone,
Rockford Fosgate amplifier and two Pioneer speakers. It's equipped
with a remote-control power cutoff. The engine compartment is
nicely detailed throughout. It's powered by an Indy 360/386hp
Magnum V8 create engine. This engine was professionally rebuilt by
Indy Cylinder Head and runs excellent. All of the engine specs and
dyno sheets are included. The engine is dressed with black Mopar
Magnum finned valve covers and air cleaner. It's equipped with a
Street Demon 625 carburetor. The engine breathes through Hooker
Hugger headers and a 3-inch Flowmaster exhaust system with electric
cutouts. The engine is coupled to a high-performance 727 automatic
transmission with 2400 stall converter and transmission cooler. The
power is transferred to the Chrysler 8-3/4-inch posi-traction rear
end with 3.23 gears. The undercarriage is nicely detailed
throughout, unlike most A100 models from this generation.
Everything was restored or replaced, such as the steering system,
suspension system and braking system. The steering box was rebuilt
by Steer-N-Gear and it's equipped with front disc brakes. Many
extras are included, such as a new front bumper, new rear bumper,
bumper brackets, third seat for back area, matching vintage cooler,
spare tire, wheelie bar, show boards, car cover, owner's manuals,
original literature and receipts. This vehicle has been recently
serviced and detailed, which is documented with a service invoice
that is included. From the MS Classic Cars collection.
