This 1969 Chevrolet Nova has a mean stance that tells you there's
some serious power within. And when you lift the hood, the
stout-built big block makes sure this one lives up to your full
muscle car expectations. In fact, you will even be surprised by
some extra you didn't expect, like a comfy interior and an
overdrive transmission.
Novas always make for terrific, custom, muscle car because they
take a compact size that can also fit a ton of power. But before we
dive too deep into the monster motor, let's appreciate the style of
this handsome burgundy coupe. The finish is a few years old and
gives the car a grown-up look. And the shine it gives off goes with
the chrome bumpers and clean grille to make for a solid vintage
presentation. No stripes, no spoilers, not even any fake SS badges
- just a cowl induction hood that seems perfectly appropriate. Of
course, the Weld racing wheels and deeply tinted windows do also
give away more if this Chevy's true nature. The whole car fits
together rather well with doors that close easily, a hood that fits
flush, and just a bit of rake to accentuate the Nova's
semi-fastback profile. Up close, you'll note that the badges on the
front fenders read '427' which gets friends excited to lift the
hood and other cars nervous at red lights.
The black interior is clean, dark, and built for a speed machine.
That means the best upgrades focus on performance. You have
high-back bucket seats up front, a B&M floor shifter, and a
small-diameter Grant sports steering wheel. In fact, the wheel is
on a tile column so you get a good view of the full upgraded gauge
package. And while there's an AM/FM/CD stereo, your real favorite
soundtrack starts in the engine bay.
This earns its power bulge in the hood with all that V8 power
contained within. The 427 crank tells us you have Chevy's magic
displacement for big block muscle. It's ready to show off with the
air topper, valve covers, alternator, pulleys, and all those other
polished components in this tidy setup. But what you'll really love
is that this has been enhanced with Quick Fuel four-barrel
carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and a nice set of long tube headers
that add power while also contributing to the rumble of the dual
exhaust. You've even got nice supporting components, like a
serpentine belt drive and aluminum radiator w/electric fan. The
700R4 4-speed automatic transmission is a stout unit that gives you
better ratios to utilize the power and give you highway-friendly
overdrive. As you look underneath, you'll spot subframe connectors
that reinforce the chassis. And this also has good anytime driving
features, power steering, power brakes, and front discs.
When this much power and poise is put in a lightweight classic, you
know you have to move fast to catch this fast Nova. Call now!
