Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1972 BMW E9 3.0CS sunroof
coupe. The BMW E9 has long been a favorite of ours - arguably one
of the most attractive BMWs ever produced, it's nice to drive and
easy to service. This example was a long-term California car before
coming to Georgia, and has recently seen an extensive cosmetic and
mechanical freshening.
Finished to an attractive driver standard throughout, it has never
suffered from the typical rust issues that plague these cars. The
restoration included a repaint in the original color of Malaga. The
interior was thoroughly refinished to a nice standard with new
upholstery, carpet, headliner, door cards, restored wood and dash
pad. Much of the exterior trim is in original, un-restored
condition.
When this E9 came to us it needed some buttoning up which we
completed in our shop - a number of new trim bits, rubbers and
hoses were sourced from BMW. We installed a brand new Nardi wood
steering wheel, rebuilt the rear brake calipers, flushed the brakes
and changed all fluids. Additionally is has recent tires on five
matching wheels and newer shocks. Under the hood is the original,
numbers-matching M30B30 inline six mated to a four-speed manual
transmission. A/C has been converted to R-134a and is blowing
cold.
Mostly stock with the exception of a modern stereo and a battery
relocation to the trunk. This BMW is running and driving well and
ready to be enjoyed - its next owner may chose to do some further
detailing in the engine compartment and take care of a few minor
items, but the heavy lifting is done and the car is very
presentable. Restoration photos and original owners manual are
included.
