Vehicle Description
There are many of us who wished we stashed away a deep-red
Corvette-powered 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS back in the day. And at
least one person actually did, because this one is a true time
capsule that hasn't even reached 500 miles on the odometer yet. So
if you're looking for one of the most desirable modern classics
that has also been awesomely preserved, you already know this Chevy
is it.
Here's absolutely the one for collectors. After all, you know this
one has been treated with the utmost respect if it has traveled
barely over 450 miles in the last 25 years. And reaching the
quarter-century mark is another important distinction, because it
makes this eligible for vintage/antique car benefits in many
states. The Dark Cherry paint is the factory application, and it
retains a nice metallic tone that lets this deep/dark color also
radiate whenever the sunshine finds the sheetmetal. This level of
preservation comes from a car that has been kept in the family. The
only owners have been a father and son. It has even been properly
stored, so you will find very few signs of use ever. And we can
understand exactly why a car like this would be treated with such
respect. This was the final year that shut the door on these
special Impala SS sedans. Just like some of the best Impalas before
it, they combined full-size utility with true sporting power. And
they certainly loved to show off this performance nature by taking
the B-body's aerodynamic style and giving it modern flair. The
aggressive grille, color-matched trim, dual exhaust tips, and
well-integrated rear spoiler gives the impression of fast with
class. And the lack of big chrome on the body means we all really
pay attention to the shine of the special 17-inch alloys. But the
most impressive part is how it all fits together. Because you can
always really see the extra quality in a car that has been cared
for correctly.
Such low mileage also means there was hardly any time to even put a
wrinkle in the leather interior. So you'll love everything from the
crisp SS stitching on the headrests to the way this unmistakably
still has the new car smell. And while this one basically feels
like it has never been used, an Impala SS is really beloved for the
level of function and comfort it offers. It has a full-size back
seat that accommodates up to three adults, and the trunk can hold
everybody's luggage - including golf clubs. And everyone is
comfortable with a long list of features, like cold-blowing air
conditioning, power windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, dual
airbags, cruise control, and the Delco AM/FM/CD stereo. And because
this is also built to be a true sports car, you have
power-adjusting front bucket seats with a center console
in-between. The floor shifter, tilt steering column, and full
gauges are also there to get you comfortable in this performance
sedan.
Under the hood is the 5.7-liter LT1 V8 shared with the C4 corvette.
This fuel-injected powerhouse looks factory-fresh, and on a
one-family car, it also is the original motor. So this one has
pedigree and a presentation that you'll love to show off. Of
course, we also know you won't be able to resist adding to the
ultra-low odometer. These Impala SS cars were upgraded beyond the
engine bay to include a better suspension that knew how to sharper
without losing the overall comfortable ride. The four-speed
automatic transmission is a great pairing that has quick kick-downs
into power as well as easy shifting into overdrive. There's also
four-wheel power disc brakes w/ABS, power steering, and grippy BF
Goodrich gForce tires.
The sale of this time capsule even comes with the original dealer
invoice. It all makes for the ultimate preserved Impala SS. So if
you're a true collector, you know you need to call today!
