For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet Nova in Manitowoc, Wisconsin

Vehicle Description

All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance.  I can assist with financing and transport as needed.

Here is a 1972 Nova that you can really enjoy.  It is a turn-key car with many nice features including a 327ci engine, automatic transmission, front disc brakes, and air conditioning.  It has the sharp lines of a third-generation Nova and wears much of its original paint.  And it is available for a price that Novas seem to have left behind.

This example was built in late June of 1972.  The 2-door sedan body style was produced in code 43 Gulf Green paint, much of which appears original.  As you might imagine, after 50 years it has lost some luster and picked up some blemishes, but it is holding up well for its age.  Note the mark on the left quarter panel / trunk area from an old magnetic CB antenna.  All trim and moldings are in good shape, and the original dealer emblem is still in place too.  The 17” aftermarket wheels wear Pirelli P215/50R17 tires all around.

The original 307ci 2-barrel engine was replaced with a more potent 327ci 4-barrel setup.  It uses a 3914678 casting from 1968 (YK suffix code).  It was rebuilt with a variety of proven performance parts including an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and MSD ignition.  The transmission is a TH350 3-speed automatic feeding a 10-bolt rear end.  The factory power steering remains, while the front control arms have been upgraded with tubular pieces from QA1 along with adjustable coilovers.  Front disc brakes were also installed.  It adds up to a great bump in performance over stock.

The original interior is finished in Light Covert and features a front bench seat.  Everything is in surprising condition for its age including the door panels, dash, carpet, and headliner.  Aftermarket features include a 3-spoke steering wheel, digital AM/FM radio, and underdash gauges for oil pressure and water temperature.  Everything is in good working condition including the air conditioning which has been converted to R134a.

This generation Nova has really aged well and has a lot to offer, with sharp lines and strong V8 power in a reasonably sized vehicle.  And while this price point is often occupied by incomplete projects or thinly disguised junk, this one is a solid performer that is ready to go.
