Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1966 Ford Mustang GT.
Finished in correct Candy Apple Red over black interior, this car
has been with the same enthusiast owner since 2001. He undertook a
complete cosmetic and mechanical restoration in 2012 and the result
is a Mustang GT that both looks and drives like new. Excellent
paint quality over a straight and solid body with good gaps, plus
nice trim and glass. Tidy underside and engine compartment. Based
on our assessment of the car, we believe it to be an authentic
factory GT, and all of the GT bits are present and accounted
for.
The interior presents nicely with correct reproduction carpets,
door panels, seat upholstery and headliner. A factory-style
under-dash A/C system has been added (but with a modern Sanden
compressor under the hood) - which is really nice for comfortable
driving in these deep south summers. All gauges, lights, switches,
etc. are working. Stereo in original dash opening with aux input
cable hidden in glove box.
Under the hood is the correct A-code 289 cubic inch V8 mated to a
C4 automatic transmission. Both the engine and transmission were
rebuilt to stock specifications during the restoration. Factory GT
front disk / rear drum brakes have been upgraded with a
dual-circuit master cylinder. Nice stainless exhaust. All
suspension bushings and steering linkages were also replaced or
rebuilt during the restoration (plus new subframe connectors) and
the result is a car that feels tight and "put together" - it runs
and drives really nicely.
In short, this is a turn-key Mustang Coupe with cold air that can
be driven and enjoyed immediately. For more information about this
