Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1983 Mercedes-Benz W126
500SE. This is a European-market example that was sold new in
Mannheim, Germany and imported to the U.S. in 1986 where it lived
in dry Scottsdale, Arizona, until coming to Georgia last year.
In North America in the early 1980s, your only options for a
short-wheelbase S class were the anemic 380SE or 300SD models -
this example with its 5.0 liter, 230 hp V8 was quite the hotrod in
comparison. Fortunately this car retained its European headlights
and bumpers when it was federalized. Finished in code 473 Champagne
Metallic over Brazil Scala upholstery, this car is still wearing
mostly original paint (with only very light clear coat fading on
the hood and truck). Excellent original underside with no known
rust issues.
This is an unusually well-optioned car that remains in largely
original and unmolested condition; it was ordered with heated
orthopedic seats and air conditioning. The interior is well
preserved with an excellent dash, headliner, door cards, original
Becker radio, nice wood, original fire extinguisher and first aid
kit. There is some wear on the driver's seat; attractive brown
sheepskin covers are included.
Service within the last few years has included Michelin tires,
suspension bushings and exhaust. It runs and drives well with cold
A/C and has made multiple long-distance highway trips recently
without complaint. Owner's manual, tool roll and warning triangle
are included. For more information about this 1983 Mercedes-Benz
