For Sale: 1969 Ford Mustang in Ft Worth, Texas

Vehicle Description

The 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is undeniably one of the most attractive pony cars of all time, and with their values going through the roof each year, why not try and grab the next best thing? This particular '69 Tribute is exactly that, an original H-Code, 63A Sports Roof car that has been faithfully restored with many of the desirable Mach 1 trappings - 351 V8, the Mach 1 decal package, hood scoop, chin and rear spoilers, deluxe black interior, and power front disc brakes. The result is a dialed-in fastback Mustang you can actually drive and enjoy, and one that still commands respect both in the street and at car shows.

Originally code P Winter Blue, which is a rather unusual color (for a reason), this gorgeous Mustang was upgraded to the more appropriate and darker shade of Acapulco Blue that adorned so many real Machs straight from the factory. Coupled with the stripe kit, this looks like the genuine article, and the paint is above average driver quality that means this car can be driven and shown without worry. Straight bodywork looks fabulous and good panel alignment ensures it'll stand up to scrutiny from even the snobbiest of Fordophiles, although they're opinions won't matter match when you're toasting them off the line at red lights. Mach 1 details like the oversized chin and deck lid spoilers, blacked-out hood scoop, and the rear window slats make this one of the most aggressive-looking Mustangs of the period, with performance to back it up. The paint glows and correct Mach 1 stripes have been added along the flanks, just in case you didn't notice all the other high-visibility cues that this is a potent pony. Quarter panel scoops and dual exhaust tips certainly don't hurt, either, and a personalized "Wild Horses' decals give the car its namesake. Given the price, it looks like someone has invested a ton of money in this build a few years back, so it's like buying the restoration and getting the car for free.

The black bucket seat interior is standard Mach 1 fare and includes red highlights on the seat backs and matching floor mats that were both a Mach 1 trademark. The door panels and seats are in great shape, while the rest of the interior has obviously been freshened in the not-too-distant past. A woodgrained Cobra steering wheel works perfectly with the matching inserts on the door panels, the center console, and the gauge surrounds to give the Mach 1 an upscale air inside, a look that was purely intentional. The overall great look and comfort of the cabin are proof that a fairly substantial pile of cash went into the interior, although some parts like the gauges themselves were nice enough in original condition to leave as-is, with a trio of auxiliary units and a much-needed tachometer supplementing the original equipment. Settle yourself behind the wheel and you'll note that the view is one of the most exciting in the entire muscle car world, with the T-handle shifter for the automatic shifter just a short reach away. There's also an upgraded AM/FM/CD radio in the center stack that works great, cold factory A/C that's been upgraded with modern equipment and refrigerant, and a nicely finished trunk that was fully insulated (just like the cabin) and covered with matching black carpets.

The H-code 351W cubic inch V8 that this Mustang was born with is long gone, replaced with a similar, albeit peppier, 351 Cleveland V8 that delivers the right balance of muscle car torque and friendly handling to make it a winner in this Mach 1 Tribute. Topped with Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and Edelbrock intake, there's plenty of horsepower on tap and it's punchy enough to make this car a joy in traffic and comfortable out on the open road. The engine bay is fairly stock at first glance, with the only notable deviations being a set of finned 351 Cleveland valve covers and a matching air cleaner, along with that big MSD ignition box and new A/C compressor. Backed by a swapped-in Ford AOD 4-speed automatic transmission, this really is a car that you can drive anywhere, anytime, and with 3.00 conventional gears in the 9-inch rear, it's a great highway cruiser. Dynomax mufflers offer a throaty engine note and Keystone alloy wheels with 215/65/15 white-letter radials always look right.

Turn-key and ready to impress from Day 1, this is the Mustang you've been dreaming of. You've always wanted a real one, now is the time to buy the next best thing before it gets out of reach as well. Call today!
