wouldn't be out of place in 2016. €" Road & Track, January 2016 In
the area of on-board electronics and technology, the Mitsubishi
3000 GT was well ahead of its time. The 1993 example offered here
shows that, with proper owner care, these sports cars really do
stand the test of time. The car's exterior red paint retains its
factory shine, and the body panels are free of damage. Seen from
the front, the aero design with pop-up headlights offers a true
sports car look; at the rear, the integrated deck spoiler and quad
exhaust exits do the same. The Carfax report (link available at the
GarageKeptMotors site) verifies its accident-free history, and its
76,000 miles, a very conservative 4,500 miles per-year on average.
Lighting lenses and cabin glass are free of damage or cracks. The
car's 5-spoke, 16-inch wheels (mounted with Goodyear sport
all-season tires) are free of curb rash. Inside, the black-and-gray
palette is highlighted by black sport bucket seats with gray cloth
inserts, and a matching design on the fold-down rear seats. The
same trim is echoed on the door inserts which, with the door
(step-over) sills below, retain a factory-fresh appearance. The
dashboard features large, easily readable analog gauges facing the
driver, with auxiliary instruments in the dash center, angled
toward the driver. The steering wheel contains an airbag, a new
feature at the time. The original audio system with equalizer is
retained in the factory position. The shifter for the 5-speed
Getrag manual transmission is mounted on the console, forward of a
generous storage compartment/armrest. All systems-including air
conditioning-function as they should. Charcoal carpeting covers the
cabin flooring and extends into the generous cargo area beneath the
rear hatch. Under the hood, power comes from a naturally-aspirated
2.8-liter V6 paired to the 5-speed manual transmission. This
naturally-aspirated V6 was rated at 222 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and
201 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm when new. The engine bay is
especially clean and well-ordered, yet another indication of the
care given the car since new. In similar fashion, when viewed from
below, the car's chassis is free of any sign of damage from
too-aggressive driving. Only light surface rust on some untreated
metal surfaces is noted. While the more than 125 high-definition
photographs of this 3000 GT, taken from every angle, including from
underneath, faithfully represent its excellent, well-maintained
condition, this vehicle deserves to be inspected up-close. For that
reason, we encourage in-person visits to our Grand Rapids, Michigan
showroom. We ask only that an advance appointment be arranged by
phone or email. Our showroom is not open to the public, so your
appointment helps ensure you have our full attention during your
visit. The Mitsubishi 3000 GT is becoming an increasingly rare
sight on the road, and, especially in red, it still turns heads.
The key is finding one with low miles and proper care over the
years. Look no further. Rear Spoiler,Front Air
