1971 Pontiac Formula Firebird
Why This Car Is Special
We have a PHS documented, completely restored, frame-up, real 1971
Pontiac Firebird here at Skyway Classics with the 350 cubic inch
Pontiac V-8, engine, black interior, and a ton of original
paperwork and documentation.
This is another amazing find for all you Pontiac collectors. This
1971 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350 is very rare and looks as the
factory built it more than 40 years ago.
Mechanical
This is the original, numbers-matching 350 cubic inch V8 remains
under the hood that has been rebuilt and modified to over 330
horsepower with show-level detailing of the engine compartment and
as slew of performance parts including a high performance cam,
Holley Street Avenger carb, Edelbrock aluminum intake and chrome
valve covers, HEI ignition, ceramic headers with 2 � inch
aluminized Magnaflow dual exhaust system, backed by a Turbo 350
automatic transmission and the factory 10-bolt rear end with new
3.08s inside.
To compliment all that power this Bird has newly refurbished R-12
air conditioning, an aluminum radiator, new brakes that are disc in
the front and drums in the rear, new axle and wheel bearings, new
shocks on the F41 suspension that has the front and rear sway bars
as well as the Handling Package from Pontiac.
It runs the original "JJ 14x7 Pontiac factory Rally II wheels with
chrome center caps/red inserts on new BF Goodrich raised white
letter tires. 215/70/14 Dunlop radials.
Interior
It has a complete new black interior (changed from the original
tan) with high-back bucket seats and matching rear seat, wood grain
and engine-turned dash housing the Gauge Package, Tic Toc Tach and
clock, factory AM/FM rebuilt radio, new Firebird floor mats,
restored seatbelts, optional door panels with arm rests, center
console with the shifter for the TH350 3-speed automatic
transmission, Formula sports steering wheel, black carpets, and
even a restored trunk and trunk mat.
Exterior
The 71 is painted in a stunning repaint (cost $17000) of the
original Canyon Copper color with perfect gaps, straight body over
the aggressive F-body lines, that radical hood with twin snorkels,
and a new black padded vinyl roof combine to make for an
interesting combination.
It too has all new chrome, stainless, moldings, badges, door
handles, tinted front windshield, weather stripping, Halogen
headlights, tail lights, rear spoiler, stripes, and much more.
We have a copy of the repro Window Sticker, Factory Build Sheet,
original Owners Manual, receipts, as well as the PHS documents on
this Firebird to back it up that you would ever need.
