Vehicle Description
Known as "The Nightcrawler," the vision of this build was to create
the ultimate nostalgic Resto-Mod verses a contemporary Resto-Mod.
The mission was accomplished with this one-of-a-kind street
machine. This car looks like an era-correct hot rod from the '60s
but has modern upgrades. This is a very unique body style,
especially when compared to the commonly seen Bel Air Tri-Five
models. As the VIN, indicates this car was built in Flint, MI, as a
1963 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door sedan with a 6-cylinder engine. As
the Cowl Tag indicates, this car was originally born with a black
exterior and an Aqua interior. From the information gathered, this
car was owned by well-known high-performance engine builder Jack
Gibb, who specializes in 409 V8 engines. He sold the car to a
high-end collector who completed a no-expense-spared, nut-and-bolt
rotisserie restoration with tons of high-end parts. This car is in
high show-quality condition from top to bottom. The exterior of
this car is absolutely stunning, to say the least. The body of this
car is laser-straight with excellent panel gaps throughout. The
hood, doors and trunk close so nicely. The car was refinished in
its original color of black, which dresses it well. The paint is
ocean deep and has a beautiful shine. It has all-new laminated
safety glass and exterior trim throughout. The car has a killer
stance on 15-inch Black Steel wheels with Moroso 7.60-15 tires on
the front and Mickey Thompson 10.00-15 tires on the rear. The
interior of this car is absolutely gorgeous in every sense of the
word. It's been completely restored to a very high level of
quality. It's very spacious and comfortable, especially with the
front bench seat. The '60s seat pattern looks great. Everything in
the interior was restored or replaced. The interior has some great
upgrades, such as the Auto Gage gauges, AutoMeter shift light with
MSD rpm-activated switch, red Ididit tilt steering column, Vintage
Air climate-control system with electric levers, Hurst chrome
shifter and line lock, RetroSound Motor 3 stereo system with modern
features and multiple speakers. The highly detailed engine
compartment was finished in gloss black and is like a jewelry box.
The hood hinges and the hood assembly was ceramic-coated. It's
equipped with new wiring, MSD ignition system, Wilwood master brake
cylinder, braided hoses, stainless lines and Optima Red Top
battery. It's powered by a Jack Gibb-built 409ci dual-quad V8
engine that was stroked to a 480ci V8 with an estimated 575hp. The
engine has been outfitted with many custom parts, such as a
polished Edelbrock intake with K&N breather, polished Edelbrock
dual 800 cfm carburetors, Billet Specialties Tru Trac serpentine
system, Chevrolet orange milled valve covers, polished milled air
cleaner and aluminum oil pan. The engine is cooled by a Be Cool
polished aluminum radiator with dual SPAL polished fans and
polished aluminum overfill canisters. The engine breathes through
custom ceramic-coated fender-well headers, 3-inch ceramic-coated
exhaust, Borla mufflers and electric cutouts. The engine is coupled
to an Auto Gear-built M22 4-speed manual transmission with blow
shield. It's equipped with a Mark Williams SFI aluminum driveshaft.
The power is transferred to the pavement through the custom-built
12-bolt Tru Trac posi-traction rear end with Mark Williams axles,
T/A cover and 4.10 gears. The undercarriage is highly detailed
throughout with many upgrades, such as a modified painted X-frame,
stainless fuel, stainless lines, GM 605 quick-ratio power steering
box, Global West front suspension system with AFCO double
adjustable shocks and Moroso drag springs, triangulated 4-link rear
suspension with adjustable controls and AFCO double adjustable
shocks, Baer front disc brakes with red calipers with slotted
rotors and upgraded rear drum brakes. This vehicle has recently
been serviced and detailed, which is documented with an invoice
that is included. From the MS Classic Cars collection.
