For Sale: 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle in Lithia Springs, Georgia

Vehicle Description

This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Nomad Wagon is pretty cool. After all, this grocery-getter has a crate V8 and racing stripes to give you a cool muscle car vibe. And you'll even love details, like the cold-blowing A/C interior. Plus, there is some serious rarity offered here to go with the value price.

This car is at the nexus of some pretty cool things. It's part of a later run where Chevy resurrected the Nomad name for some intermediate wagons. Plus, the 1971 Chevelle was one of the best muscle cars of the era. This one has been upgraded to reflect that with the cowl hood and black SS stripes painted on top. And the color-matched wheels with dog dish hub caps were for the base models, but today, we also know special machines like Yenko COPO cars had them, too. More than just its lineage, this wagon has an overall appeal of usefulness. The factory-correct Ascot Blue paint and chrome bumpers have a good shine, but they aren't too pretty to get to work. So you'll happily use this one for anything from tailgating at ballgames, to painting your business name on the side for the coolest rolling billboard around. And wherever you go, you can tell the story of some interesting history here. The 131 in the VIN tells us that this was born a six-cylinder wagon. We all like V8 power, that's why this one has been upgraded, too. So this was unpopular and rare when new. There reportedly only about 2,800 examples of inline-six Nomads made in 1971. To put that in perspective, Chevrolet averaged more Chevelle Malibus in one week than Nomads like this in total! So there are some bragging rights in having a Chevy wagon that was produced in less numbers than some very rare Corvettes.

The black interior is clean, complete, vintage, and vast. Nice upholstery, full carpeting, a good headliner, a smooth dash, and clean glass with good rubber all mean that this wagon doesn't disappoint when people peek inside. And anyone who goes for a ride will really appreciate Vintage Air under dash air conditioning system that's blowing cold with modern R134a refrigerant. But you don't need anyone else to have fun in this Nomad. The three-spoke Chevy sports steering wheel, upgraded auxiliary gauge trio, and large column-mounted tach make this a very fun driver.

Under the hood is a crate V8 installed only a few years ago. After all, being born a six-cylinder gives this history, but a Nomad should really have small block power. The 350 cubic-inch motor is topped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor. And it's supported by the right pieces, like a serpentine belt system, electric fan, and an electronic ignition. The motor fires up nicely as it makes a good tune out of the dual exhaust. There's a Powerglide automatic transmission, and when combined with a young crate V8, it sounds like a great recipe if you are looking to have a drag wagon. But this also has power steering, power brakes, new modern tires, and a smooth Chevelle ride to just be a very easy going package for your anytime driving ease.

This Nomad is rare, powerful, fun, and all-around cool. So if you want the grocery getter with all the right features, you know this is the one. Call today!!!
