Vehicle Description
This is an original 1927 Cretors Popcorn truck, not a re-creation.
The coach was built by Cretors and Company of Chicago, IL, and is
the only Cretors truck to leave the factory with installed cast
corbels supporting the cowl awning. Designed to vend fresh hot
popcorn, roasted peanuts, lemonade, espresso and shaved ice, this
popcorn truck was carefully disassembled and restored, and features
six etched blue flash glass signs, nickel-plated trim, pull-out
serving window, and a hand-made gingerbread roof with turret vent
and pierced ribbon trim. The original popcorn and peanut equipment
is intact but needs refurbishing. Much of the kitchen equipment has
been upgraded and modernized, including the new Swan ice shaver. It
has a 3-bay stainless-steel mini-sink with a 30-gallon freshwater
capacity. Electrical is wired-in conduit with 110V 60-amp breakers
and 4 fourplex outlets. The freezer comes equipped with a 30-pound
horizontal propane tank. In good running condition, this truck is
powered by a 4-cylinder engine paired with a manual transmission
and will start via hand-crank or battery.
