Original colors according to the trim tag, its beautiful! This is a
real Bel Air V8 hardtop.
EXTERIOR I will say the body is laser beam straight. Really,
whoever prepped this car did a great job. The panels all fit square
and flush. The paint is a literal mirror. You can read the Sunday
paper in the reflection. Repainted it's original Onyx black color.
All of the chrome and stainless has been restored or replaced. Up
front all the chrome, headlight bezels, emblems, lenses hood
rockets look new. The gold anodized grill and emblems look new. The
stainless moldings down the sides, on the rockers and around the
windows are straight and polished. It has new mirror, handles and
rear mount antenna. In back all the chrome, lenses and emblems were
replaced. Looks like all of the glass except the back window his
been replaced. The door jambs are painted real slick. New weather
strips and sill plates. It was given a set of custom wheels with
radial tires. For about $2000 a new set of reproduction wheels,
hubcaps and white walls could be installed.
INTERIOR: The red really pops,, original colors according to the
trim tag. Restored from carpet to headliner back to factory
condition. All the metal inside the car including the dash is
painted a smooth gloss red. The factory gauges have been replaced,
there is only 114 miles on the odometer since restoration. The dash
trim is new. It is upgraded with a retro stereo, steering wheel is
restored. The seats are rebuilt- painted springs, new burlap and
padding. All new reproduction upholstery on the seats and door
panels. It has the cool chrome buttons and piping. The window
cranks, armrests, mirror, speaker shelf are new. Overhead is a new
red headliner and matching visors, dome light works. I even looked
up under the dash. It all looks new- heater box is restored, new
firewall insulation, new wiring, brake light switch etc. New
carpet.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The motor compartment is completely stock
except for an upgraded Edelbrock 4 barrel carb with electric choke.
It has stock manifolds and valve covers. Features include power
steering, power brakes and electric wipers. It has nice smooth
black finishes on the metal. The battery is bolted down and has a
disconnect switch. The hinges are new.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very clean metal was painted a smooth gloss
black. It has new rubber mat, decal, hinge bolts, latch looks
new.
UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame for restoration. The
bottom of the body is all metal and was painted red oxide primer.
The chassis was taken apart, prepped and painted black. The
suspension and steering was restored. It has polyurethane bushings
in the front end. The body was reunited with new bushings. Bottom
of the motor is clean Chevy orange with correct canister type oil
filter. It has correct date coded Powerglide transmission. It has
an original 3.36 posi rear end. The dual exhaust looks new, it has
polished stainless mufflers. The fuel system was replaced- tank,
straps, insulators and sending unit. The brakes were rebuilt, hoses
and lines replaced, e-brake assembly is hooked up.
