West Coast Classics are proud to present a mostly all original
surviving example of this one family owned since new 1966 Chrysler
Newport 'Firepower' 383 V8 Convertible with original factory
specifications including; 'Torqueflite' Automatic Transmission,
Heater amp; Defroster, Power Steering, Golden Touch Am radio, amp;
Power Top.The 1966 Newport received new grille work and revised
taillights but was otherwise changed very little from 1965. Engine
offerings were revised with the 270 hp 383 cu in (6.3 L) two-barrel
continuing as standard equipment while the four-barrel 383 received
a 10 hp increase to 325 hp. This particular example which has been
repainted in 'Red' and has it's very nice 'Black' seats interior
with a matching 'Black' color power soft top. The floor boards,
trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and
rust-free and the car has no signs of any accidents - obviously a
mostly always garaged example. The car was a purchased by a disabled
veteran in 1966 and family owned until we recently acquired the car
from the family. The power top works great and the car drives
excellent. This is a great opportunity to own a great rare great
daily driving and turn key ready example of a very well preserved
and 1966 Chrysler Newport 383 V8 Convertible!
