This 1979 GMC Suburban is that ideal affordable classic that has
numbers-matching big V8 power so you never have to leave anyone or
anything at home. And with a cool two-tone style and even cooler
A/C interior, you know this is the one that everyone will
enjoy.
This Suburban has a very cool sense of style. The two-tone yellow
and white was an update later in life, but it has the unmistakable
1970s vibe. There's a nice shine, but the finish is not so special
that you won't hesitate to use this one for the long haul (after
all, we love Suburbans because they can go almost everywhere and
take almost anything with them.) This also has great details, like
an updated grille and the premium trim separating the two-tone.
Plus, the color matched wheels are an awesome upgraded that have
the retro-cool solid style and two-piece trim.
Inside, this really has a great preserved/survivor-style
presentation, right down to the button-top seatbacks. In fact,
while these often were used up for big trips every day, this one
has averaged less than 2,100 miles annually so far. You get three
rows of wide benches for seating up to nine total with seatbelts -
only special-order Suburbans do that today! With plenty of room
behind the third row for cargo, this is the ideal machine for
everything from camping to tailgating. It even has the right
features for long-haul comfort like an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo,
tilt steering column, and cold-blowing air conditioning.
With a Suburban that has been so vintage so far, it's no surprise
to lift the hood and see the numbers-matching V8. Of course, you
also want the original motor, because this was born with a 454
cubic-inch big block! It has a well-maintained look, and there's
some added polished flair, but the real investment you're going to
love is in the added power. The Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor is
now mounted on an Edelbrock Performer intake, and long tube headers
now feed the dual exhaust. It delivers plenty of power with a nice
smooth feeling that makes this classic SUV quite practical. This
rugged sophisticate is comfortable for the long trips thanks to
power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a strong TH400
three-speed automatic transmission.
Complete with maintenance records, this Suburban is powerful,
distinct, and has everything you want. So don't miss this deal,
