this car.
Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this beautiful 1986
Mercedes Benz 560SL in excellent condition with only 119,915
original miles. It looks spectacular, runs great, and is an awesome
driver. The market on the 560SL is absolutely red hot right now and
this example is priced to sell. Lower mileage and original examples
of the R107 Mercedes SL are exceptionally difficult to find and
draw a huge premium in the current market. 119,915 miles is low for
a Mercedes from this era as they are built like tanks and can
virtually run forever when properly maintained. The original
mileage is also verified not only by the condition of the car, but
also by the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, showing the
mileage as "Actual."
This 560SL comes with both the soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. This
is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Mercedes that is ready
to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy
this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years
to come as the values are on the rise. This Mercedes is finished in
the absolutely beautiful and highly desirable color combination of
Black (040) over Light Brown interior (274) with a Black soft-top
(740). This is also the correct and original color scheme as
verified by the codes on the vehicle data card. Please peruse all
of the photos, video, and other information in this ad to get a
true sense of clean and nice this 560SL really is.
As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle. We
hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from
owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the
vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
560SL, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Black (040) exterior is in great condition. As one can see in
the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and smooth
finish. Both doors open and shut nicely; it has that solid Mercedes
touch and feels like a vault door closing. The car exhibits great
body panel fit overall. The chrome and other bright-work look very
nice with no pitting. The wheels are in great shape with a
brilliant finish and no curb rash. The Michelin tires have about
95% tread left and are correctly sized 205/65R15. There are no
major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the
photos. As one would expect from a paint job with many years on it
there are some small blemishes and touch ups around that are too
tiny so show up in the photos, but nothing that is really
noticeable from about five or ten feet away. This Mercedes has no
rust issues. As one can see in the many photos of the underside,
this 560SL is very clean underneath. We have also included specific
photos of the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and
other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it
looks.
Interior
The Light Brown (274) interior of the 560SL looks absolutely
fantastic. The seats are in excellent condition with no split
seams, holes, or excessive wear. The seat is not overly worn in the
typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out, there
is just small amount of wear there. The carpet looks great with no
stains, rips, or holes. All of the gauges faces are crisp and clean
and the lenses are clear. The original door panels look wonderful
with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in
tact. The Black (740) convertible soft-top is in good condition.
The rear windows are clear with no yellowing and are not worn in
the normal spot where the windows contact the top mechanism. The
dash and console are in good condition with no sun fading, and one
crack which is visible in the photos. This car has never been
smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever and no burn
marks. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the
original spare tire, and rim, jack.
Convertible interiors are not know to wear well and the excellent
condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous
care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout its
life.
Mechanical
This 560SL appears to be in very nice mechanical condition and it
is ready to be enjoyed. The engine starts right away every time,
runs well, and idles smooth. It is an exceptional driver that feels
great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video one can
observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph,
shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going
through some curves. Please note that it runs great, there are no
strange noises or vibrations, and the car performs quite nice
overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or
the other. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car.
It runs cool and does not overheat. The gauge shows that the engine
makes great oil pressure. There are a few thousand dollars in
receipts for maintenance and other things to keep the car in tip
top shape over the years. Also, the engine bay is clean, nicely
detailed, and correct as one can see from the photos.
Please note in the video the dash warning lights; they light up
when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is
started. There are no "check engine" lights that stay on. The horn
works as do the fog lights, headlights, brights, turn signals,
interior lights, indicators, dash gauges lights, wipers, power
locks, and fan. The a/c works and blows cold. This Mercedes has
plenty of power with the 5.6 liter V8 engine. Not enough can be
said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car,
especially with the top down on a beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1986 560SL is in excellent condition and is a true
bargain at our asking price. The beautiful color combination makes
this Mercedes particularly desirable. The market for the R107 body
style SL Mercedes is very strong right now, particularly for the
560SL's and this would be a great example to own. This Mercedes is
a great value and will only appreciate over time. Someone could
easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more
than the purchase price with minimal effort.
Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call
with any questions.
