This 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II is pre-production car #14 of
14. The pre-production cars were sent to dealers as promotional
vehicles and later sold to the public. It is documented by a copy
of the factory production order stating it was an introductory unit
tagged for dealer showing. In 1956 the Mark II was a symbol of
success, priced well above other domestic vehicles and equivalent
in price to a Rolls-Royce. This Mark II underwent a meticulous,
professional, 5-year, frame-off restoration to a high level with
attention to detail throughout. Everything in this fine automobile
has either been restored or replaced. Power comes from its
matching-numbers 368ci V8 engine with 4-barrel carburetor mated to
the matching numbers 3-speed automatic transmission and rear end.
Finished in Crimson Red over a red and white interior, this Mark II
also features power steering and power windows, and comes with
complete restoration photos.
