Vehicle Description
A great color combo makes this 1975 Chevrolet Corvette instantly
attractive. But the upgraded wheel package and a little extra
rumble of the exhaust clue you into something more. That's because
this coupe now has a 400+ hp crate motor and the control of a
five-speed. So yes, the appeal of this one goes well-beyond a value
price.
Silver has a timeless look on all cars, but the factory-correct
color here truly has added appeal thanks to a quality respray only
about six years ago. Shining paint goes a long way on these later
C3s because they have the color-matched urethane bumpers front and
rear. These gave the Stingray an appearance of one long continuous
wave - almost like art on wheels. So this one is attractive even
before we talk about what's lurking in the engine bay. Then again,
with those large exhaust pipes and wide 15-inch upgraded wheels,
you know there will be people who already know to ask you to lift
the hood.
The red leather interior is a nice complementary color to the
exterior silver. It has a sophisticated look that gives this
American classic an almost European tone. So you'll love taking the
T-tops out just to share the full color package with the world. It
has a very stock feeling inside that's stylish and correct, with
just the right hint of use to let people know it's a real classic.
That's why you also have cool features like the working Delco AM/FM
radio, and the controls for factory air conditioning are still on
display (it will need servicing to blow cold again.) And as you
grip the classic three-spoke sports steering wheel, it really feels
like a great vintage driver's environment... and then you count the
gears on the stick shift.
The engine bay doesn't try to hide the beast inside. While this was
born a desirable L-82 car, the investments here went far beyond
stock. It now has a 355 cubic-inch ZZ4 performance crate motor.
This V8 has been enhanced and fortified for serious power,
including Pro-Action alum heads, a Comp Cams hydraulic camshaft,
10.25:1 compression, full MSD ignition package, an Edelbrock
intake, and topped with Holley 750 four-barrel carburetor. Hooker
ceramic coated headers add power while feeding the custom-made
chambered dual exhaust. It's a forceful package said to make well
above 400 horsepower. And you get to fully harness that power with
a transmission upgrade that includes a Centerforce clutch, new
bellhousing, new flywheel, and a Tremec TKO 600 five-speed stick.
This connects to a custom driveshaft that feeds a 3.55 Positraction
rear end. The fully independent sports suspension received
attention during the restoration. There was also a quick ratio
power steering box installed as well as the addition of drilled &
slotted rotors for the four-wheel power disc brakes.
So this is the extra powerful and sharp handling Corvette you've
always wanted. And when it looks this good and the price is this
affordable, you know this deal is not going to wait for long. Call
