Vehicle Description
This 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS has a sleek black style, loaded
interior, and torque-filed HO 5.0 V8. It really makes for a car
with the right look to celebrate one of the last great American V8
coupes.
We love these SS cars because they have style. They took the Monte
Carlo's personal luxury image and gave it a brawler makeover. You
see it so well with the deep and dark finish on this one. The black
paint was an upgrade later in life, and so while this is already a
low-mileage car, it shows even less signs of use than you'd expect.
And it has even been given a recent wax and buff so that you have
the smooth feel of volcanic glass. These were built to be sleeker
for NASCAR races, and you see its sporting side in the aerodynamic
front end and full rear spoiler. Even the trim is sleek on these
where it utilizes bold red decals rather than raised badging. And
just for that extra hint of style this one has a few cool custom
details, like the tinted windows and how the dual exhaust is
integrated into the rear side of the body kit. Plus, there's an
upgraded set of polished Torq Thrust wheels with a sporty
17/18-inch front/rear stance (the buyer can also choose to have the
factory 15-inch alloys instead.)
The Ruby Red interior always looks good in these cars. It keeps the
dark attitude going while also having the premium tone of burgundy
wine. So it only gets better on a well-preserved example like this.
It has all the best options, including power windows, power locks,
rear defogger, provisions for factory air conditioning (likely
needs a recharge,) and the Delco premium AM/FM/cassette stereo. So
this is the kind of classic that's still comfortable to share with
family and friends. And while this can seat six in total, a proper
Chevrolet Monte always knows how to be a personal driver's machine.
Your seat power adjusts, and there's a fold-down center armrest for
bucket-like comfort. The dual-spoke SS steering wheel is mounted on
a tilt column, and so you get a clear view to the full round gauge
package with large speedo and tach.
These SS coupes received the 305 cubic-inch High Output V8 direct
from Chevy. This is believed to be the original motor for the car,
and it has a stock and well-maintained look of a low-mileage
machine. Topped by a four-barrel carburetor, it's a strong runner
with plenty of old-school muscle car torque. Plus, this setup is
linked to a 200-4R four-speed automatic transmission - an overdrive
unit that makes this SS coupe a fantastic highway cruiser. The
complete driving package also includes power steering, power
brakes, front discs, and sway bars front & rear.
Complete with owner's manual packet, this is an extra-sleek
representation of a true classic. So when you love them dark and
loaded with V8 power, you know this is the one to grab. Call
