All new in 1963, The Buick Riviera was the lap of luxury and power in American automobiles, and Buick’s first major entree into the personal luxury automobile class. While Buick used the designation Riviera in previous models, 1963 was the first year of the Riviera as its own marquee model.
This example has undergone a multi-year, fully documented $31k, complete mechanical restoration, a combination of rebuild and painstakingly sourced replacement, performed over 3 years. The result is a time capsule of that inspirational design - an Original amongst Originals
This Coastline Cruiser is the rare 1963 - 401 cu in, 7 Liter, 445 Wildcat Nailhead version, with 2-speed auto turbine transmission, AC, power steering, power windows, and power brakes (replaced during restoration with a dual hydraulic system for increased safety)
The 445 V8 is especially rare in the 1963 model year in which it was introduced, with only 2601 produced of 40,000 total Riviera units, adding to the desirability and collectibility of the '63.
