Back in 1951, the Deluxe was the top-of-the-line Chevrolet and this
3-owner convertible is an exceptional example of that classic. It
is sweet. When the Chevy left the factory back in '51 it had
virtually every option available on the sheet. The current owner
(13 years) has included the window sticker, Owners Manual,
documentation and a '1951' calendar. The ragtop has been the
beneficiary of a full restoration and may very well be your 'Best
of Show'. The exterior received a professional 2-stage respray of
original Trophy Blue. The owner added a small amount of metallic to
the finish and it really jumps. This eye-catching appearance is
accented by a stunning white top (manual), rear fender skirts,
hubcaps/beauty rings and wide-white 15" radial tires. Other rare
options include hood ornament, dual outside mirrors, fog lights,
driver spotlight, turn signals, backup lights and a full front
bumper guard. The spare tire is beautifully housed in a factory
continental-style rear bumper. A blue leather interior was original
to the car, but all was reupholstered during the restoration
process. The interior has more the appearance of Cadillac from that
era than a Chevy. Everything is first-class and in excellent
condition. Factory comfort options include heater/defroster,
'wind-up' clock (inop) and Day/Night mirror. New carpeting was
installed front/rear and the factory AM radio was converted to an
AM/FM system - it looks original, but provides 2021 sound. The
Chevy is powered by a 235ci straight-six that was donated by a '55
Chevy and totally rebuilt. It runs like a Swiss watch. Exhaust is
routed through a 3-into-1-header dual exhaust system, all electrics
have been converted to 12 volts and a new fuel tank was installed.
Behind the 'stovebolt', a 3-speed manual gearbox from a '61 Chevy
sedan transfers torque to a '55 Chevy differential with stock gears
(same donor as engine). All of these components meld together
perfectly as very few major mechanical changes occurred during
these years - if it worked, don't fix it. The chassis is fitted
with manual steering and hydraulic 4-wheel drum brakes. Look at the
photos again. This stunning Chevrolet convertible deserves center
stage in your Bowtie garage. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
