Art & Speed is proud to present this stunning Arctic White over
Royal Blue 560SL. The 560SL was the last of the R107 series, which
ran from 1972 to 1989. Starting in 1986, Mercedes upped its SL's
power level with a 5.6-liter V8 pushing 227 horsepower. It isn't a
mind-altering number by today's standards, but it was a luxury
two-seater with a top speed of 140 mph - plenty for a top-down
roadster.
This 1988 560SL is a trip back in time to a world-class experience.
With only 88,000 miles on the odometer, this SL is in a class of
its own, showing in excellent condition from headlight to
taillight. It appears to have lived a pampered life driven on
weekends or special occasions, and obviously garage-kept. The
leather seats, dash, and wood trim have no cracks or excessive wear
often found in other examples that spent more time in the sun.
Everything works as expected, including the convertible top.
This car appears to be a true survivor, with no apparent signs of
significant distress in its 32 years. Even the rubber bumpers and
chrome pieces seem to have withstood the test of time quite well.
The engine is Mercedes smooth from takeoff as the transmission goes
through its three gears automatically. You can confidently cruise
this car just like it was 1988 all over again.
We represent this one to be in original condition, but one that can
be driven and enjoyed without worrying about putting a few miles on
it for a country drive. Come by the Art & Speed showroom, slide
behind the wheel of this epitome of style and grace, and take the
long way home!
