The 1969 Chevelle SS396 was one of America's most popular muscle
cars of the era. Art & Speed is pleased to offer this beautiful
example, finished in a custom dark green metallic finish, with
painted white side spears.
This big block Super Sport lived most of its life with one Alabama
owner. The exterior shows beautifully, with only minor blemishes.
This car turns heads and can be an easy winner at many car shows.
The front and rear windshield glass are in great condition, while
the side windows show some minor wear. Brand new chrome bumpers
adorn the front and rear. Overall, the stainless trim is in good
condition.
Opening the hood, we find a tidy engine bay housing the rebuilt 396
engine with aftermarket upgrades. Although we cannot confirm which
version of the 396 the car was born with as the block was decked
when rebuilt, it does employ an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor
sitting on a polished aluminum PowerPlus intake, Sealed Power cam
and dome top pistons, ARP hardware and more. Other accessories
include an HEI distributor, working factory air-conditioning, power
steering, and power front disc brakes. Horsepower is transferred
through the Muncie four-speed to a 3.55:1-ratio 12-bolt
differential. The chassis is original and in good shape. Goodyear
Eagle GT2 Radials (255/60R15) are mounted on upgraded 8-inch Chevy
rally wheels that appear like-new.
Inside, the black interior is factory correct and in new condition.
The door panels, chrome handles, window cranks, seat chrome, and
floormats are all brand-new. The headliner is in excellent
condition. The dash pad and instrument bezel panel are brand new,
while the gauges are original and in working order. A RetroSound
stereo is hooked up to Prestige 6x9-inch speakers in the rear. The
factory aluminum three spoke steering wheel adorns the no-frills
column. The four-speed Hurst shifter controlled by the iconic white
ball rests in the center console between the front bucket
seats.
This SS396 is a great looking car that is sure to turn some heads
and deserves much respect. If you are looking for a stout muscle
car, you can't go wrong with this beautiful Metallic Green SS
Chevelle.
