This two-owner, matching-numbers 1966 Corvette was a rally racer,
as evidenced by its custom front spoiler and custom fender flares
that were added for a more aggressive and sporty appearance. It was
raced over three states - Kansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico - and it
made it to the regionals and semifinals year after year. The
427/450hp 8-cylinder engine was built by Bill Howell, an engineer
for General Motors, and is equipped with GM performance heads and
backed by a 4-speed manual transmission that runs through the gears
with ease. From its days as a rally racer, it comes with the
quick-release steering wheel that was used during races, but also
comes with the original steering wheel along with the telescopic
steering column.
