Vehicle Description
This 1960 Corvette is one striking total package. The distinct
two-tone makes quite an impression on the outside. The V8 power
with a manual transmission keeps you wanting to hop in and go for a
drive. And long term care means this one was kept correctly.
The 1960 model feels like the one where everything really came
together on the first-generation Corvette. The design was a bit
sleeker, but it still has the right features from the first
'Vettes. After all, this was the last year for the hint of classic
tailfin and the exhaust artfully integrated into the rear bumper.
Also, we know the right Corvettes get treated like family. So it's
great to find one like this. It has been with the same owner since
1986, and he purchased it not too long after a frame-off
restoration. With less than 3,800 miles on this convertible since
it was completed all those decades ago, this one has a very cool
story and presentation that combines both a little bit barn find
and a little bit long-term love. And this really gets the classic
style right. The Ermine White paint looks terrific with the
whitewalls, and the silver sculpted side inserts have an
understated flash. So where the real flair is showcased on this one
is in the brightwork. This has the complete package with the
toothy-grille, two-piece front bumpers, two-piece rear, and correct
wheel covers. You may want to invest in improvements in some areas,
but really, the Corvette crowd loves a car that wears its history
with pride. And this one shows the real difference long-term care
means in all the right details - including how the doors close with
confidence.
This car comes with both a white convertible top and a desirable
hardtop that can be restored. But of course, the best way to enjoy
a C1 is with no roof at all. And the black interior is a true
timeless contrast that fits with the more sophisticated color theme
of the car. These first-generation Corvettes taught us what a
driver's car can be, and so you have bucket seats, a thin/grippy
steering wheel, and a full gauge package with the working tach
right in the center. And this one is nicely detailed everywhere
from the bright door trim to the Wonderbar AM radio that's still on
display.
The engine bay has a great look for a classic Corvette. It has the
right details like the big/flat air cleaner, bright distributor
shield, and Chevrolet script valve covers. It's even using the
correct Delco-Remy generator. The reason for such a vintage and
honest presentation is that the suffix codes of the motor and the
build date info put this in line with having the original block
still under the hood of this C1. The 283 cubic-inch V8 starts up
easily and loves to accelerate. The control of the three-speed
manual transmission, good brakes, and a true feeling for the road
all remind you that this is a true sports car.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and restoration
photos. This is the distinct C1 that's looking for its first new
home in 35 years. Are you ready to be a part of its history? Call
