Vehicle Description
Known as the "Slinger 911," this fully custom 1973 Porsche 911 T
began life as a slant-nose clone before undergoing a full rebuild
and restoration. The faux "flachbau" nose was removed and replaced
with all-new RS fenders and quarter-panels. The "Slinger" features
fiberglass bumpers from GT racing, flared rear arches and a custom
RS-style ducktail spoiler. Power comes from a 3.0-liter flat-6
engine fed by 40mm PMO carburetors, upgraded camshafts and
stainless-steel exhaust system. Delivering power to the rear wheels
is a Porsche 915 5-speed manual transmission upgraded with a
RennShift Performance shifter. The 911 rides on 17-inch Braid
wheels wrapped in sticky Sumitomo Tires rubber, and stopping power
is provided by upgraded Porsche disc brakes. The body is finished
in cream with all trim powder-coated in anodized platinum, and a
racing-style gas cap was added. The fully bespoke interior was
completed by Colorado-based Auto Weave Upholstery and finished in
leather offset by braided leather inserts. Additionally, the
bolt-in rear roll bar was wrapped in matching Italian leather and
the interior features a Kenwood audio system, amplifier and JL
Audio speakers. Fully custom, the "Slinger 911" has been aligned,
lowered and is ready to drive on road or track. From the Larry
Winkler Collection.
