This 1968 Shelby GT500 convertible is #00877 in the SAAC registry
and is verified by a Marti Report included with purchase. It is one
of 402 GT500 convertibles produced in 1968 and one of three built
in this specific configuration. Painstakingly restored, this Shelby
was built with driving in mind. Power comes from a 428ci V8 engine
with added electronic ignition and the standard gearbox has been
replaced by a TREMEC 5-speed manual. The GT500 sports a factory
Candy Apple Red exterior with an all-new saddle leather interior.
Factory equipped options include power top, visibility group, wheel
well moldings, power steering, power front disc brakes, tilt
steering wheel, AM radio, interior decor group, tinted glass,
tachometer and trip odometer. The original factory air conditioning
system has since been replaced by a Vintage Air climate-control
system. The GT500 still rides on the original wheels and during its
restoration was rebadged as a KR model. From the Larry Winkler
Collection.
