Vehicle Description
Redesigned for 1957, the Chevrolet Bel Air continued as a smash hit
and helped to propel the Bowtie brand toward number one in
manufacturing, with this model line accounting for nearly 50
percent of total Chevrolet production. The '57 Bel Airs owed
nothing to the previous year, from their remodeled front fenders to
sculpted and extended rear fins, the all-new bodywork and updated
interior captured the motoring public's attention. This Sierra Gold
Bel Air convertible is in great condition and is a fine
representation of the one-year-only body style. A recipient of a
full body-off renovation by famed Tri-Five preservers Snodgrass
Chevy Restoration, the craftsmanship is apparent and has resulted
in a show-quality Bel Air. Every inch of the full-size Chevrolet
has been lovingly refinished to a high level of accuracy. The
laser-straight body work accentuates the chrome molding and trim,
which is all complete. Also, the spinner hubcaps look just right
with the wide whitewall tires. Power comes from the 283ci V8 engine
with 4-barrel carburetion and dual exhaust producing a healthy dose
of usable horsepower. This small-block engine is connected to a
Powerglide automatic transmission. Power steering and power brakes
make for easy driving. Inside the cabin, the interior features
bench seating with Adobe Beige and white two-tone upholstery. Other
options and features include deluxe heater, electric clock, AM
radio, chrome fender-mounted antenna, dual chrome exterior mirrors
and a convertible top parade boot cover. From the Raser Collection.
