Outfitted with the proper 1960s 427 side-oiler, this Cobra was
offered directly from Stephen Becker's Planet Shelby Cobra, a
factory-authorized Cobra dealer and Shelby American mod shop. It is
fully documented with a copy of the original Carroll Shelby-signed
MSO. His distinctive signature plaque also graces the console.
Shelby Automobiles has been manufacturing continuation cars with
4000 and 6000 CSX serial numbers since 1995. Not to be confused
with replicas - this is a genuine Shelby American Inc-built CSX
Shelby Cobra. This Cobra was special-ordered in a Shelby American
color commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Shelby at Le Mans. The
fiberglass body is finished in the LeMans Blue with Wimbledon White
Le Mans stripes, a particularly iconic color and one that
complements this performance icon well. It's all there, from the
distinctive Halibrand wheels to the classic wood-rimmed Shelby
steering wheel. This CSX 6000 car is fitted with nearly every
available factory option. Power is provided by the period-correct
mid-1960s vintage Ford 427ci side-oiler V8 engine that sports
medium-riser aluminum heads and a Shelby-style side-winder intake
backed by a 5-speed manual transmission.
