Vehicle Description
This 1929 Model A Roadster is a '50s-style retro hot-rod powered by
a 1953 Mercury 8BA Flathead engine built by H&H Flatheads in La
Crescenta, CA. The engine is outfitted with Ross Racing pistons,
SCAT Mercury crankshaft, SCAT rods, Navarro aluminum heads, ScOT
blower, dual Stromberg 97 carburetors, custom headers and stainless
exhaust. The all-original 1929 roadster body is still all-factory
rust-free sheet metal. It's equipped with a Roadster Shop chassis,
drilled super bell, 4-inch drop L-beam axle, SO-CAL Speed Shops
drum-covered discs front brakes, TREMEC TKO-500 5-speed manual
transmission and Winters quick-change rear end. The car rides on
Halibrand-style real knock-offs with cheater slicks. The clean
simplicity of the interior is combined with a few Roadster Shop
nostalgic touches. Classic Instruments rebuilt the workings and
created a new face for '34 Pontiac speedometer and gauge
combination dressed up with a custom bezel and trim and mounted in
the center of the dash. A matching tachometer is mounted in a
fabricated vintage-style bracket below the dash. The Tri-C tilt
steering column holds a leather-wrapped 4-spoke Sprint Car steering
wheel. A custom bench seat and door panels are covered with bright
red tuck and roll leather. A pair of bomber-style belts maintains
the retro appearance and provides safety. This car features
meticulous paint and body work and a 2-inch chopped Haartz cloth
top. It was built by The Roadster Shop of Mundelien, IL, one of the
top builders in the U.S. **SOLD ON BONDED TITLE**
