Vehicle Description
It is certainly not impossible to locate a nice 1955 Chevrolet Bel
Air convertible, but to find a fully restored, two-owner, highly
optioned convertible that has remained within 30 miles of where it
was sold new is practically unheard of after 60 years. This
lustrous onyx black Bel Air was sold new at Sunset Chevrolet in The
Dalles, OR, to its first owner, who tenderly cared for the car for
21 years. In 1976 it was sold in close by Hood River, OR, to its
second owner, who periodically drove the car for several years and
decided to do a full restoration in 1983. The second owner kept the
car for 39 years and in 2015 sold the Bel Air to a recognized
classic car dealership in Portland, OR. The dealership proceeded to
rejuvenate the Bel Air once again with a complete tune-up, new
fluids, minor mechanical repairs and over 200 hours of cosmetic
detailing to the entire car from top to bottom. The result: A time
capsule Bel Air in great condition that features all its original
factory drivetrain components. The rebuilt 265ci Power Pack
small-block V8 engine is mated to a Powerglide 2-speed automatic
transmission. The exterior features a deluxe chrome package and
deluxe Continental kit on the rear bumper. Lowering the power
convertible top reveals a two-tone red and beige upholstered
interior loaded with factory options like power windows, power
steering and Wonder Bar radio. This example of the all-new-for-1955
Chevrolet Bel Air convertible has been well cared for its entire
life. From the Raser Collection.
