Vehicle Description
Redesigned for 1957, the Bel Air was an instant smash hit and was
the Bowtie brand's number-one-selling model accounting for over 10
percent of total Chevrolet production. The 1957 model owed nothing
to the previous year, with its sculpted front fenders, distinctive
chrome headlights and wide-look front grille. This Onyx Black
hardtop is in great condition - restored to exacting standards -
and is a great representation of the one-year-only body style. The
now famous '57 Chevrolet tailfins were designed to duplicate the
new wide-look in the rear and include the V-shaped trim filled with
a ribbed aluminum insert exclusive to the Bel Air. Bel Air models
also stood apart with their anodized gold trim that included the
Chevrolet script hood and trunk emblems as well as the fender
chevrons. The recipient of a comprehensive frame-off restoration,
every inch of this full-size Chevrolet has been lovingly
refinished. The laser-straight body work accentuates the chrome
molding and trim, which is all complete. Also, the spinner hubcaps
look just right with the wide whitewall tires. Under the hood is
the date-code-correct Chevrolet 283ci fuel-injected V8 engine
producing a stout 283hp connected to the 3-speed manual
transmission. The Bel Air cruises down the road with its
smooth-riding full-frame design. The high-quality restoration can
be seen everywhere - even the undercarriage of the Chevrolet is
fully detailed with all the correct parts and finishes. Inside the
Chevrolet is a redesigned for 1957 dashboard, finely detailed with
end-to-end chrome trim that complements the curvaceous interior
cabin. The Bel Air is equipped with distinctive options such as a
Continental kit, fender skirts with stone guards, dual rear
antennas, EZ-Eye glass and a dash-mounted traffic light viewer.
