Redesigned for 1957, the Bel Air was an instant smash hit and was the Bowtie brand's number-one-selling model accounting for over 10 percent of total Chevrolet production. The 1957 model owed nothing to the previous year, with its sculpted front fenders, distinctive chrome headlights and wide-look front grille. This Onyx Black hardtop is in great condition - restored to exacting standards - and is a great representation of the one-year-only body style. The now famous '57 Chevrolet tailfins were designed to duplicate the new wide-look in the rear and include the V-shaped trim filled with a ribbed aluminum insert exclusive to the Bel Air. Bel Air models also stood apart with their anodized gold trim that included the Chevrolet script hood and trunk emblems as well as the fender chevrons. The recipient of a comprehensive frame-off restoration, every inch of this full-size Chevrolet has been lovingly refinished.
