Vehicle Description
Chrysler began talks in 1988 about introducing a "Cobra-esque"
roadster to their lineup. Designers and engineers would use the
latest of modern engine technology, but the Viper would not be a
gadget-laden, high-tech wonder. It would take a mechanically pure
approach with one goal: unfiltered communication between driver,
car and road. In late 1991, three years after the initial
production meeting, the Viper RT/10 Roadster - offered only in
Viper Red with a gray interior - rolled off the assembly line. This
1992 Dodge Viper is powered by an 8.0-liter V10 engine pumping out
400hp. The 6-speed manual transmission gives an experienced driver
absolute control over its raw power. Previously this Viper was
owned by former Denver Broncos quarterback and current general
manager/president, John Elway. Mr. Elway purchased this Viper the
first year the vehicle was released. Only 285 1992 Dodge Vipers
were made, and this one's VIN ends in 45. Until recently, this
Viper was stored at the showroom and maintained at John Elway's
dealership in Greeley, CO. Over the years, the Dodge Viper has
inspired feelings of adrenaline, envy, admiration and pure driving
enjoyment. This notable Viper has 7,953 actual miles. **SOME STATES
