This 2005 Panoz Esperante GTLM has been upgraded by the factory in
LeMans racing livery. The body has extensively improved
aerodynamics and under the aluminum hood, cradled in a new
carbon-fiber superstructure, a supercharged version of Ford's
quad-cam 32v V8 engine was slotted in where the naturally aspirated
SOHC 4.6 lives in the standard car. A TREMEC 6-speed manual
transmission replaced the base car's 5-speed and drives an 8.8-inch
limited-slip differential. It has been further upgraded, taking
performance to the next level, as the stock blower was replaced at
the dealer with a Ford Racing/Whipple twin-screw unit and breathes
out the other end through stainless headers and a free-flow sport
exhaust system. With its 649hp it leaves the competition in its
rear-view mirror. Also added are PIAA Racing 19-inch wheels and
14-inch front Brembo brakes as well as new tires on the rear. This
GTLM has 3,722 actual miles from new with an original MSRP of
$141,000. **SOME STATES ISSUE "MILEAGE EXEMPT" TITLES AFTER 10
