This 1937 Ford 5-window custom is powered by a 239ci 8-cylinder
engine, which was modified by Ralph Earnhardt (the grandfather of
Dale Earnhardt) using parts donated by Vic Edelbrock Sr., including
an intake manifold and dual Stromberg carburetors, backed by a
3-speed manual transmission. Purchased in 2017 from the Reggie
Jackson Collection, this hot rod has received $20,000 in additional
improvements for safety and reliability. These improvements include
a rebuilt transmission, front and rear turn signals, driver and
passenger 3-point seat belts fixed to an interior roll bar and
front disc brakes. It retains the original headliner but has
otherwise been reupholstered and carpeted, and soundproofing has
been installed. A satellite radio with backup camera was also
installed in the glove box.
