The NHRA Special Edition Formula Trans Am was a commemorative
edition built to celebrate the NHRA's 50th anniversary. Only 534
were built during a three-year production run from 2000 to 2002. In
2002 there were only 189 NHRA Special Edition Trans Am coupes built
with automatic transmissions. 2002 was also the final year for
Firebird production. With 44,461 actual miles (the title reads
mileage exempt), this Trans Am is original, except for the addition
of a removable strut brace and an SLP cold-air intake. It has
T-Tops that still retain their factory shades and is powered by a
5.7-liter V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. It is
loaded with options, including leather seats, air conditioning and
ABS.
