Vehicle Description
Launched in 1997, the MV Augusta F4 was the Italian marque's answer
to the Japanese sport bike. Created by famous motorcycle designer
Massimo Tamburini, the F4 would stay in production from 1997 until
2018. This 2006 example is the F4 1000S. It's powered by a 998cc
inline-4 engine that produces 166hp at 12,000 rpm. The engine
features hemispherical cylinder heads with 4 valves per cylinder
and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The red and silver
rocket can cover a standing quarter-mile in 11.4 seconds and reach
a top speed of 187 mph. From the Larry Winkler Collection.
