et out and go! Whether you plan to go exploring the countryside or adventuring your local downtown, this 1983 FJ60 is a hoot to drive! Although not the fastest on the road, the FJ60 is a nimble and fun off-roader. Like most of the 80’s fads, the FJ60 four-door 4×4 popularity has been on the up and up, heating up in the market with values rising the past couple years. From new, it had an appealing retro vibe before retro vibes were even a thing. The interior featuring a well-organized dashboard and neatly striped fabric on the seats and door panels that mark the Land Cruiser’s first tentative transition from agricultural tool to aristocrat.
This FJ60 example here, has several modifications including an Old Man Emu suspension lift, aftermarket audio components, 18” wheels, and a Front Runner Slimline II roof rack. All nice upgrades without going too far as making the vehicle uncomfortable for every day use. Powering the Land Cruiser is a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Recent service was completed by Mudrak Cruisers in Sonoma, CA and the Toy Shop in Denver, CO. The body was repainted in metallic blue under previous ownership, noting areas of rust in the additional photos. The interior is trimmed in grey vinyl with striped cloth seat inserts and the front doors and rear panels have been lined with Dynamite sound deadener. The front crew will enjoy the addition of seat heaters being installed as well.
