Vehicle Description
HIGHLIGHTS: Beautiful blue Comet Caliente, with those striking
classic Comet body lines! One family owned since new! This example
is a great value that'll rip up the roads just like back in the
'60s! Ford small block V8 hooked up to a 4-speed manual
transmission!
BODY OVERVIEW: The body is remarkably straight, considering this
car has not received a full restoration, and it shows that this car
has been cared for over the years. The body lines are crisp and
sharp, and this Comet is bound to turn some heads! Underneath, this
car is showing some common rust repair patches in the
floorboard.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: It's been a few years since this Comet
received a repaint, but it still looks good. Kept aesthetically
true to original form, this Comet is sure to bring back some
memories! The paint is in good condition showing normal wear, as
one would expect for a car that has been repainted in the last
several years.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: Step inside this Comet and poof-it's
the 1970s again. The bench seats have been recovered in cloth with
vinyl trimming, and the door panels have been done to match. Though
the carpeting is beginning to show some age, this interior has all
the earmarks of a car that has been kept up on and taken care of
over the years.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: A well-loved daily vehicle for most of its
life, this Comet runs well and handles like a Comet Caliente
should. Under the hood is a small block Ford V8 that sounds great!
Upgrades and changes from factory have been kept to a minimum, but
an aluminum radiator and a 4-bbl Holley Street Avenger carburetor
are the most notable tasteful upgrades. While this car is not
equipped with power steering, it is remarkably easy to handle and
really gives you a feel for the road-something rather
uncharacteristic of 1960s performance cars!
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The Comet Caliente's had body
lines like no Comet or Falcon ever before, and that really sets
them apart. If you're looking for a car that's "the same but
different," this Comet sure fits the bill!
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: If you're looking for a
top-notch show car, this isn't it. It is an old car that has been
looked after over the years.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? It does need a few minor repairs including
the horn, blower motor, turn signals, oil & temperature gauges,
radio, and the emergency brake.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Whether you're looking for a
fun & unique driver-quality car to tinker with and cruise on the
weekends, or a solid start to a next-level custom or restoration,
this Comet is a great candidate for whatever you have in mind!
