Vehicle Description
1970 Chevrolet Impala 400ci V8 - Automatic Transmission - 47k Miles
- Black On Black - Documented (Please note: If you happen to be

photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) If
you missed your chance to buy a new Impala from your local Chevy
dealer in 1970, this is a car to take a close look at. The
condition of this Impala is remarkable. Impressive enough that we
dare say that this car looks as if it has hardly been driven
between 1970 and today. Climate controlled storage and meticulous
owners give us a chance to see cars like this one in nearly the
same original condition that they rolled out of the factory in.
This particular Impala was purchased from George R Gibson Chevrolet
of South Holland Illinois on July 1st 1970. A ledger was started
when the car was new in which the owner kept records of any service
completed on the car. It's a fairly short ledger thanks to the fact
that the car has such low mileage. A large stack of receipts
accompanies the ledger showing mileage along with the service
records such as oil changes, batteries, tires, spark plugs, shocks,
brakes, etc. The car was meticulously maintained, and as of
recently was kept in climate controlled storage by the original
owner's family. This sleek car with it's slight 'coke bottle' shape
is covered in the factory black paint (code 19B) and black vinyl
roof. Although it's finished in an understated color, the car has a
great look to it. A bright grille paired with quad headlights and a
chrome bumper front the car, while a chunky squared off chrome
bumper with rectangular tail lights finish off the back. The paint
is original, and does show its age very slightly with a few small
swirls in a couple areas, and a few stone chips on the hood. All
the trim and brightwork show incredibly well, including the lights
and side markers. 15 steel wheels have metal mag style wheel covers
mounted to them, and are wrapped in white stripe tires. Getting
inside the car is easy thanks to the large doors, and once inside
it's a time warp. Bell bottoms, platform shoes, or a pantsuit may
still feel like appropriate attire in this car. You may expect a
new single from Creedence Clearwater Revival, Neil Diamond, or
Three Dog Night to be coming through the AM/FM Radio. The interior
is in amazing condition throughout, and features include bench
seats, wood veneer trim, AM/FM Radio, Factory A/C, retracting seat
belts, and a sweeping speedometer. Under the hood is a 400ci V8
mated to an automatic transmission. The engine bay, like the rest
of the car is very clean and looks to be highly original. Power
steering, power brakes, and factory A/C components are all
highlights in the engine bay. The underside of the car is solid and
again, looks highly original. This car is in amazing condition and
gives us a chance to see a car like this in nearly the same
condition it was in when it left the showroom floor. It's a classic
American car that's been a familiar name for decades and is
immediately recognizable. Take a close look at this well cared for
Chevy, it's your chance to have a highly original, documented car
to relive the past in. Be sure to check out all the photos and
