Vehicle Description
This 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback is more than just a great
classic pony car. It was given a full restoration that has this one
looking extra-sharp. And they also added all the best features,
including an A/C interior and five-speed stick shift.
It doesn't get much more desirable than a first-year Mustang with
the sleek fastback body. That's why a car like this gets treated
with care, and it even underwent a comprehensive restoration in
2016. So the factory-correct Rangoon Red now has a deep luster that
comes from modern clearcoat paint and a professional hand applying
it. Good paint is always a great way to show off well-done body
panels. This luster also complements the shine of the mirror-like
brightwork. You get the vintage pieces like the full window trim,
badges, and wraparound chrome bumpers. It has thoughtful upgrades
such as trumpeted exhaust coming through the rear valance for a
little GT-style flair. Plus, the 17-inch Rev polished alloys add to
the overall shine package while also letting you fit modern
tires.
The black interior received plenty of attention during the
restoration, and so it contributed to the car's quality feel. The
seats, door panels, headliner, and carpeting all leave a fresh
impression. There are good details everywhere from the working
courtesy lights to the crisp trunk mat. This one was built for
upgraded comfort. That's why you have an armrest center console
with cup holders, an AM/FM stereo w/aux input, and cold-blowing air
conditioning. As a true driver's coupe, this has a modern take on
the classic Rally Pac with upgraded AutoMeter oil pressure and
tach. And have you counted the gears on the shifter yet.
This was born a C-code 289 coupe, and so it's good to have a
correct-style 289 cubic-inch V8 under the hood. But just like the
rest of this car, there has also been a solid investment in the
right upgrades. You have added flair with the polished shock tower
brace and air grabber. The bright Monte Carlo bar and Cobra valve
covers give this a cool Shelby-style attitude. The V8 also has
added performance with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and MSD
distributor. This is a strong-running package, and you get to take
full advantage of it thanks to the upgrade to a Tremec five-speed
manual transmission. Add in power brakes with upgraded front discs
and grippy modern tires afforded by the wheel upgrade, and you
really get to understand how this Mustang loves to handle while
still letting you feel the road.
Fastbacks are always in-demand, so you know how special it is to
find one that looks this good and already has all the best features
for modern enjoyment. This restored pony car is ready to hit the
road. Call now!
