Vehicle Description
In a hobby that's chock full of numbers-matching time capsules and
show-stopping customs, it's always nice to see a tasteful muscle
car that's as tough as it is timeless. A head turning road rocket,
this slick Barracuda has been completely restored, fitted with 426
cubic inches of legendary Hemi and wrapped in brilliant green and
black aesthetics. If you're searching for a broad-shouldered MoPar
classic that wraps great performance in handsome looks, check out
this awesome E-Body!
LOUD LIKE IT SHOULD BE!
The beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration, this choice
Barracuda is a fine example of exactly how legendary American
muscle should look: large, lethal and in charge! The car's thorough
rebuild removed decades-dulled single-stage to make way for a
glowing green profile that's sealed under a White, power-operated
top. And today, this Plymouth rolls as a clean collection of
well-aligned panels and ridged character lines that presents a
better-than-factory appearance.
Those lines manifest at a 1971 Barracuda grille, which hangs a
quartet of traditional headlights above a crisp bumper and a 1971
Barracuda valance. At the top of those lamps, a familiar Shaker
Hood frames small lanyards with a subtle "PLYMOUTH" script.
Opposite those pins, fresh glass reflects professionally polished
stainless, 3-speed wipers and color-keyed Sport Mirrors. That
stainless falls behind factory door handles, tight wheel lips and
1971 Barracuda fenders. And at the back of the car, a 1971
Barracuda valence hangs stylish taillights and tasteful "'cuda by
PLYMOUTH" badging above bright exhaust tips and a second crisp
bumper.
LOUD AS IT WANTS TO BE!
Pull the pins on this classic's fully functional hood and you'll
find 426 cubic inches of professionally rebuilt Hemi that's ready
to rock and roll! Affectionally nicknamed the elephant block, this
Chrysler legend utilizes iron heads, forged internals, Mopar
Performance Purple Camshaft lifters and a Mopar Performance Purple
Cam to turn big power into miles of smiles. All that high
performance hardware is housed in a glossy Hemi Orange block, which
hangs an attractive set of Organisol-coated valve covers above
correct, low restriction exhaust manifolds. Fuel and air are
supplied by quality Edelbrock carbs that are bolted to a high
performance intake. Compression gets sparked by hot Chrysler
Electronic Suppression cables, which are snapped onto a correct
points distributor. Resultant combustion is cooled by 26 inches of
professionally re-cored Chrysler radiator. And, visually, the
engine bay of this stellar MoPar is in brilliant, show-ready
condition, featuring acute detailing and correct finishes
throughout.
HEMI CHASSIS
This Barracudas fully restored chassis is every bit as clean and
straight forward as its solid exterior panels and fully sorted
engine. The high-winding big block churns power through an
18-spline 4-speed, which spins a custom Denny's driveshaft in front
of a dressed Dana 60 that's finished with 3.54 gears and a
posi-traction differential. Braking comes courtesy of
power-assisted discs. Factory-style power steering leads Hemi
torsion bars and Hemi leaf springs. Charred dinosaurs flow through
aluminized pipes to Chrysler-branded mufflers and rear-mounted
resonators. And at the corners, date-correct Rallye Wheels spin
235/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As in front of 255/60R15 BF Goodrich
Radial T/As.
DROP-TOP DREAM
Inside this convertible, a tasteful combination of Black and White
vinyl is simple, functional and good as new. Top dead center,
high-back buckets are restoration-fresh, showing virtually no signs
of wear. Clean carpet centers a cool Hurst Pistol Grip Shifter
between vivid door panels. In keeping with the car's theme, a 1971
Barracuda dash frames familiar Rallye telemetry. And the driver
carves curves with a predictable yet cool 1971 Tuff Wheel.
The true beauty of a classic car is that it can be anything you
want it to be. Love original lines, but want a little more
substance? Looking for some killer metal that'll wow crowds AND
tear up the roads? Here it is, no compromises, no disclaimers and
no excuses!
